Lake County ACEs Connection (IN)

We envision flourishing communities where every neighbor acts as agent in creating the reality of our community, every neighbor has access to the necessary resources and supports to offer our gifts and talents to the community, and all community sectors are organized to engage the gifts and talents of every neighbor for the good of the community.

Exciting Updates for the 2021 reimagine conference!

Northwest Indiana Community Action is planning the 3rd annual reimagine conference addressing the intersection of trauma and community development.  We are so excited to announce this year's keynote speakers.

We will welcome both Dr. Christina Bethell, from Johns Hopkins University and Laura Porter of ACE Interface will join us virtually.

For the past 35 years Dr. Bethell has built her work and career around an intentional goal to catalyze health care and public health transformation at the policy, systems and practice levels. This has been driven by an unwavering focus on advancing a whole-person, whole-family and whole-community model of care that engages patients and the public, is transparent, continuously learning and collaborative. Dr. Bethell has been a national leader in the development of policy, practice and research applications of population health and systems performance measurement and family and community centered improvement methods. As founding director of the Child and Adolescent Health Measurement Initiative (CAHMI) and the National Data Resource Center for Child and Adolescent Health (www.childhealthdata.org), a project supported through HRSA’s Maternal and Child Health Bureau, she has initiated and led the collaborative development, validation and national, state and local implementation and IT based public reporting of child, family and community health and health systems performance and outcomes.

Laura Porter is Co-Founder of ACE Interface, LLC. With Dr. Robert Anda, Ms. Porter develops and disseminates educational products and empowerment strategies that help leaders throughout the nation to dramatically improve population health. Laura Porter brings to ACE Interface more than two decades of experience leading successful implementation of ACE Study concepts.  Her expertise includes overseeing analysis and dissemination of surveillance and archival data to support decision making and designing and facilitating processes demonstrated to improve population health, safety and productivity.  She has a unique perspective because of the depth, breadth and longevity, of her work with communities, and because of the stunning success of those communities.
