After having 37 individuals at its first two meetings, there was a huge turnout for the first of three meetings targeting a study of the book Childhood Disrupted by Donna Jackson Nakazawa. Fifty-three community members, representing more than 20 agencies spent their lunch hours going deeper. Conversations about the impacts of childhood trauma were wide spread, but as one shared "in chapter three we are already talking about solutions." These meetings have lead to new connections being built to use this insight to better serve students and families in Hutchinson. This team meets monthly and will invest the next two meetings discussing the book. In April ACEs Connection star, Jane Stevens, will work with the group to begin formulating strategic plans for each agency and also for the community group. Later this summer those stones will be cast upon the water where every ripple matters.

Educating people in Hutchinson about Adverse Childhood Experiences and the effects of toxic stress. The goal is for the community to integrate trauma-informed and resilience-building practices into individual, family, work, and community lives.
