Our vision for a healthy Charlotte County is a safe, equitable and vibrant community in which people feel empowered to seek and obtain opportunities and services to achieve and maintain a high quality of life.

Charlotte County, Florida receives ACEs Proclamation!

Good evening,

On Tuesday September 22, 2020 (tomorrow), the Charlotte County Board of County Commissioners will sign a proclamation recognizing October as Adverse Childhood Experiences Awareness and Action Month in Charlotte County, FL. The Healthy Charlotte Community Connection Taskforce has worked hard to see this proclamation signed and recognized by our county since the beginning of 2020 and are extremely grateful for the opportunity to raise public awareness on one of the most underreported public health crises of our time. We initially aimed for a September proclamation being that it is trauma-informed care awareness month, however, due to circumstances outside of our control, our County was only able to provide October. Nonetheless, we are proud and excited to see our county take this step towards becoming a more connected, resilient, and peaceful community.

Stay tuned for a post with the official proclamation tomorrow....
