Franklin County Cares: Trauma-Informed Community Initiative (MO)

We support trauma-informed services and community education. We believe that trauma-informed care will build stronger families and stronger communities.

Nominate a Trauma-Informed Care Champion: #TICchampion

“Engaging leadership is the holy grail of being able to sustain and promote a healing organization.”- Ken Epstein, PhD, LCSW, Former Director, Child, Youth and Family System of Care San Francisco Department of Public Health

Becoming a trauma-informed organization requires clear communication about the transformation process, and support from staff at all levels of an organization. Often these efforts are spearheaded by “trauma-informed care champions”— individuals committed to raising awareness regarding the health effects of trauma and toxic stress and improving care for people who have experienced trauma.

This week, the Center for Health Care Strategies (CHCS) invites you to recognize people around you who are trauma-informed care champions. Nominate someone via Twitter using #TICchampion, and learn about other champions across the nation by following @CHCShealth.

See trauma-informed care champions in action in our new video, “Trauma Informed Care Champions: From Treaters to Healers.”

We are recognizing #TraumaInformed care champions like @emachti, director of the @WHP_UCSF. Do you know a #TICchampion? Use #TICchampion to recognize their work, and learn more about Dr. Machtinger here: ly/MPtM30mCEYa
