Youth Thrive Blueprint: Tools and Resources for Putting Youth Thrive into Practice [cssp.org]

 

The Youth Thrive Blueprint is:

  • A practice resource for youth-serving agencies and organizations to advance the well-being of young people—ages 9-26 years.
  • Full of actionable ideas and tools to build young people’s strengths and Protective and Promotive Factors.
  • Developed with a focus on young people in foster care andrelevant to other settings such as: afterschool and community-based youth programs, juvenile court systems, programs for young people experiencing homelessness.
  • For any person who wants to promote thriving in young people.
The Blueprint is a one-stop resource for the best advice, ideas, and tools for enhancing practice with young people. The vast array of materials within the Blueprint is shaped around youth voice, choice, and power with the goal of equipping staff with the skills necessary for ensuring that youth can thrive. It was developed with guidance from an advisory committee that included young people and youth-service staff and managers. The Blueprint content has applicability for all youth-serving contexts including, schools and community-based youth programs, as well as for public and private child welfare agencies and the legal system. As always, the Youth Thrive team is available to answer any questions you may have. We invite and encourage everyone to check out and start using the Blueprint now.
The Blueprint is divided into seven parts:
  • About the Blueprint: Overview of who can use the Blueprint and how.
  • Defining Thriving: What it means for young people to thrive.
  • Tools: Hands-on materials for professionals working with young people.
  • Briefs & Crosswalks: Intersection of Youth Thrive and other programs and approaches.
  • Creating a Thriving Culture: Questions and considerations for supporting young people.
  • Youth Thrive Basics: Information for those new to Youth Thrive.
  • Resources: Links to external resources for supporting young people.
The Blueprint is currently available online here. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact: francie.zimmerman@cssp.org. In the future, Youth Thrive plans to provide information and opportunities to learn and share more about putting the Blueprint into practice, so stay tuned.
