Fighting ACEs in Palm Beach County (FL)

A network for professionals, leaders, and community members to collaborate across sectors to prevent and mitigate the effects of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs), enhance caregiver and community capacity to effectively address ACEs, and build resilience in Palm Beach County, Florida.

This is Us - Meet Peace4Tarpon -Shannon Krukonis - P4T BOD member!

 

Shannon has over 25 years experience working with children in preschool and after school settings.  Originally from Boston, Shannon holds a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology as well as an Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education.  Since moving to Florida in 2000, she has built a career working in the early intervention field with ages 0-5, as well as working with truant teens as a case counselor in child welfare and currently as the Behavior Specialist for the YMCA of the Suncoast.  Shannon has a passion for training in the areas of behavior management & trauma informed practices and holds a kid's yoga instructor certification.  She currently lives in Pinellas County and is married with a young son and daughter. 

Shannon is a very active Board member and recently has provided training opportunities at the YMCA to expand the mission and outreach of Peace4Tarpon. She has presented at University of South Florida at the College of Public Health Harrell Center for the Study of Family Violence and Center of Excellence in Maternal and Child Health for Abraham A. Salinas-Miranda MD, PhD, MACE Research Faculty/Visiting Research Scholar.

Beyond that – Shannon is a vibrant powerhouse who is on our education team – works on our Education Leader’s Breakfast every year, and way more. She is positive, sensitive and passionate about Peace4Tarpon.
