Re: An ACES Presentation as a Sermon

Dale Fletcher ·
Thanks for the encouragement Donna! To answer your question, I have not yet developed such a 'next step' document, etc. In doing a quick search I found this - My ACES are too high, now what Is this the kind of thing that you are talking about, but from a faith perspective? And thanks for the encouragement to self care. I'm on it.... with God's help! ~ Dale

Hi There, I am a participant in Dale's class. There is another person who would like to subscribe to the ACE Connection site, but can not because she is not affiliated with an organization and does not have a website to enter into the platform. Is there another way to join? Thanks for your help!

Two more questions, if you will indulge me? -- 1) Do you have a "completed" edition of Slide #40 (or a summary "completion")? -- 2) What is the Kauffman 2016 source which you reference on page 9 in the "script"?

Daun, it seems that my reference to Kauffman, 2016 came from this internet page - https://www.youthranch.org/edu...onal-impacts-of-aces It's clear to me now that the complete reference is not included. And I see you may be the referenced author. Do you have an accurate reference source that should be used? And attached is a PPT slide with a completed table of Biblical Principles for Risk Factors.

Daun Kauffman ·
Dale, Thank you so much for the Principles portion of slide 40! (and the notes). You have been exceedingly helpful and I appreciate it. The reference MAY be to me for something I wrote on my internet site "LucidWitness.com" in August 2016, Titled "Nowhere to Hide: The Elephant in the [Class]room" (Daun Kauffman). I was curious (but not certain) because it seemed so close to home. Thank you again. Daun

Spirituality and Health in Our Federal Government

Dale Fletcher ·
I’m dismayed that our federal government’s health-related initiatives and websites do not include spirituality in their frameworks for health and wellbeing. Consequently, the spiritual dimension of health is not recommended as a resource to improve individual health and wellbeing and the nation’s public health.

Strengthening the wounded soul can improve psychological and physical wellbeing and help to complete the recovery process. Although ACEs, understandably, can numb feelings, including spiritual feelings, once healing has progressed, spiritual feelings can often be successfully cultivated.

I agree wholeheartedly. Last year some colleagues and I published an article that tried to point out some of the disconnect among the faith community, healthcare community, and scientific community. We suggested ways to address that. Here is the reference: Clements, A. D., Cyphers, N., Whittaker, D. L., Hamilton, B., & McCarty, B. (2021). 1988 U.S. Congressional Resolution #331 acknowledges the role of the Iroquois constitution in the development of our U.S. Constitution. The Iroquois constitution reportedly called for 'Generational Review'- I question whether they 'knew' about 'Trans-Generational Trauma' or conceptualized it differently. They reportedly availed Women the Rights to: Assert, Debate, VOTE, and Declare War beginning between 1095 and 1150 A.D. ..... They certainly used 'Villages' to raise children. I've yet to...
