Upcoming 4CA Webinar on 8/27/20: The Impacts of COVID-19 on California’s Children, Families, and Communities

 

The California Campaign to Counter Childhood Adversity (4CA) invites your participation in an upcoming 1.5 hour interactive webinar entitled “The Impacts of COVID-19 on California’s Children, Families, and Communities” on August 27, 2020, from 1:30 PM – 3:00 PST that will explore the economic impacts of COVID-19 and how it has affected, and continues to affect, California communities. Featuring a panel of experts, Dr. Flojaune Cofer, Public Health Advocates, All Children Thrive, California; Dr. Elisa Nicholas, TCC Family Health; and Lynnan Svensson, MSN, RN, PHN, El Dorado County Health & Human Services Agency will share a state-level landscape overview and describe local-level needs from various system perspectives. Participants will be engaged in discussion to determine where opportunities exist for policy and systems change.

This webinar is intended to be one of two in a series that will seek to ultimately raise up the experiences of California communities and family-serving organizations in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic; describe the economic impacts, including elevated unemployment; and protests against systemic racism and police brutality catalyzed by the murder of George Floyd which have impacted California’s communities; and explore where opportunities exist for policy and systems change.
