California Essentials for Childhood Initiative (CA)

The California Essentials for Childhood Initiative uses a public health and collective impact approach to align and enhance collaborative efforts to promote safe, stable, nurturing relationships and environments for children, youth and families through systems, policy and social norms change.

New Resource: Trauma-Informed Approach to Active Transportation: Recognizing the Relationship between Adversity, Resiliency, and Active Transportation Brief

 

The California Department of Public Health, Injury and Prevention Branch (CDPH/IVPB) the California Department of Social Service, Office of Child Abuse Prevention’s (CDSS/OCAP), Essentials for Childhood (EfC) Initiative and the Active Transportation and Safety Program, a project of IVPB and the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) Active Transportation Program (ATP) have developed a new resource titled, “Trauma-Informed Approach to Active Transportation: Recognizing the Relationship between Adversity, Resiliency, and Active Transportation.”

This brief was developed to support the efforts of active transportation safety partners and stakeholders as they work to educate decisionmakers about where opportunities exist to adopt and implement trauma-informed practices and approaches.
