Education Reform’s Missed Opportunity: Young People in California’s Court Schools [San Francisco, CA]

At a time when California has earmarked millions to direct more resources to underserved youth in K-12 schools, education reform has failed to address the needs of a captive audience -- kids in the juvenile justice system, who attend what are known as "court schools." A new study by Youth Law Center finds that these schools are failing young people in juvenile hall, who are hungry to learn and find little support.
