Warning: Positive Changes Ahead!

Benchmarks is pleased to announce the implementation of a new project which seeks to improve the lives of children in the child welfare system. In conjunction with Vaya Health, a Medicaid managed care organization in North Carolina, we are excited to begin this important work. We believe this project has the potential to greatly impact the services children receive, the way professionals work together, and enhance the lives of the families we serve.

Benchmarks has proven success in project management and brings important lessons learned from other trauma informed child welfare projects such as Partnering for Excellence. The main role of Benchmarks is to provide consulting and training services related to the alignment of practices of the local child welfare system and the behavioral healthcare provider system. The ultimate goal is to improve the care and treatment provided to child welfare-involved youth, however, we know that that is a huge undertaking!

Therefore, to begin this process Benchmarks will host focus groups across the region including  local child welfare system staff, foster care parents, behavioral health providers and the local Medicaid managed care organization to ensure all voices are heard. Our goal with this project is to create a shared vision, objectives, and outcomes among all our partners and we know begins with getting all our partners to the table and listening first to the folks that work in the field daily.

We are excited about this new adventure and the opportunity to work alongside outstanding partners such as Vaya Health who are committed to providing quality services to our most vulnerable population- children that have experienced trauma, child abuse and neglect. Stay tuned to learn more about this exciting endeavor as we create positive and lasting change in child welfare.
