Georgia Reads Book Club Presents: "What Happened to You?"

“What Happened to You? Conversations on Trauma, Resilience and Healing” by renowned brain and trauma expert Bruce D. Perry, MD, PhD and Oprah Winfrey - a 2021 must read!

We are so excited to announce that Georgia’s Essentials for Childhood Initiative, in partnership with Gwinnett County Public Libraries, will be launching a Georgia Reads Book Club of “What Happened to You?”. Attend the kickoff event on November 15th at 7 pm EST to learn more about the book and how Georgia is working towards addressing trauma, building resilience, and healing their communities. To register, follow this link. Dr. Perry will be joining us on January 10, 2022 at 7:00 pm for a virtual author event - more information will be provided during the November 15th event.

Georgia Reads is also looking for neighborhood book clubs, libraries, community groups, faith-based organizations, civic clubs, or social service providers to host local discussions. If you are interested in being a discussion host, register here. Using our Georgia-specific discussion guide, hosts will facilitate conversations on the book’s main concepts including trauma, brain development, resilience and healing.  Discussions can be held in-person or virtually. Hosts and their participants are encouraged to attend the kickoff and author events detailed below.  Hosts are asked to schedule book club discussions after the November 15th kick off.
