Alameda County ACEs Meet-up

Yuko M. Leung: City of Berkeley Public Health Nurse | Arrived shortly after 4:30pm and left around 5:15pm

Rona Renner:
- Would be happy to moderate panels in Alameda County for ACEsConnection
- Would be interested in attending an Alameda County ACEs Summit
- She does a lot of trainings for First 5 Alameda and with parents (regarding temperament)
- During her trainings she mentions ACEs but would like a one page handout and/or PowerPoint that explains what ACEs are, why is knowing and understanding about ACEs important, and how to use/incorporate the ACEs Study in their work
Before Yuko arrived. Rona spent timing talking about her ideal handout and PowerPoint she would want from ACEsConnection (explained above). She and I had talked previously when I interviewed her on the work she was doing in the community. She is curious about what other people are doing and interested in continuing to have meet-ups.
Yuko M. Leung:
- Interested in criticism and shame
- Being raised by a parent with depression
- She is interested in language barriers
- Interracial relationships (including within the Asian community since all Asians are typically “lumped” together even though they come from various backgrounds, languages, food, culture etc.)
- Resiliency – How problem solving is no appreciated in some cultures
- Self-doubt and Self-Efficacy

My last day is actually Today. I look forward to continuing to be an ACEsConnection advocate in Alameda and Contra Costa County.
