ACEs awareness and Compassionate Education Systems - good news from the community

Carla Denner shared an experience with us from the Petaluma City School Board Meeting in March. The topic of discussion was schools being a safe place for all students and those facing immigration issues.

She shared with us that she was happy to hear ACES discussed as part of this conversation. Also the wonderful work that Nikki (ACEs fellow) is doing with the Petaluma Schools.

Petaluma is an example of a compassionate education system that is working to educate their staff about ACES and trauma informed care!

A resolution was passed by the school board and work will continue in the community around safety and support for students.

This is such a great example of how the MARC project is impacting the community!

Thank you for sharing Carla!

Thanks for sharing Elizabeth! Very exciting share from Carla. Concurring with Gail, please know it would be terrific to read the resolution. Invited yesterday to have Youth Voice present before the Jamul-Dulzura Union School Board, it would be fabulous to have Petaluma's resolution included in the presentation.

HI Elizabeth- thanks for sharing the great work that Petaluma is doing to create trauma-sensitive school environments. Can someone share the resolution that was passed by the school board? This could be something for other school districts to replicate!
