We are excited to share an opportunity from the Family Independence Initiative (FII) that aims to recognize and support Black leaders working tirelessly on initiatives on behalf of their community.
Equity Fund for Black Leaders has recently opened its application for Black leaders who work as; activists, organizers, or grassroots leaders in the effort to advance the fight for Black liberation, end systemic racism, and create a more just and equitable country.
Here are some quick facts about the opportunity:
  • The application is open between February 1st -10th.
  • The fund is limited to leaders living in FII core cites —Boston/Cambridge, Central Texas, Chicago, Detroit, and Oakland.
  • Applicants are asked to share their leadership story and how they plan to use the investment (no personal information or stories will be shared without permission).
  • 55 leaders from each city will be randomly selected from their applications to receive the investment.
  • The investment amount per leader selected is $3,500.
  • Leaders will select how they want to receive the funds —direct wire transfer to bank or digital account, physical or virtual card.
Please check out the fund FAQ or more information on this opportunity. If you have any additional questions, you can reach out to FII here.
Please feel free to share this opportunity with leaders in your networks that you feel would be a good fit.
