What is problematic sexual behavior? This presentation will help to answer this question. It will introduce and explain what problematic sexual behaviors are in children and will explore helpful treatment interventions. Presentation topics will include: • Typical childhood sexual play and exploration • Research based guidelines to determine when typical sexual play becomes problematic sexual behavior • Elements of problematic sexual behavior • Origins and triggers of problematic sexual behavior • Misconceptions about children with problematic sexual behavior • Impacts of problematic sexual behavior on children and families • Helpful strategies and treatment interventions including a brief overview of treatment programs PSB with TF-CBT and PSB-CBT models • Supportive and protective factors that impact outcomes
