Children's Advocacy Center: "Words Have Power: Understanding Child Emotional Abuse" Training

Hosted by Central Florida's Children's Advocacy Center, emotional abuse happens when a child is repeatedly made to feel worthless, unloved, alone, or scared. The impacts of emotional abuse can be long lasting and can damage a child’s self-worth and emotional wellbeing.

In this training you will learn:

  • The definition of emotional abuse and mental injury
  • Passive and active types of emotional abuse
  • How family violence affects children
  • The various types of emotional abuse
  • How to prove mental injury
  • Examples of emotional abuse
