Children's Advocacy Center: "What is Grief?" Training

Virtual

Hosted by Central Florida's Children's Advocacy Center, grief is a natural response to loss. It is considered an emotional suffering having to cope with the loss of someone or something you love that has been taken away. It is one of life’s biggest challenges. This training will present how many associate grieving with the death of a loved one, which is often the cause of the most intense type of grief; however, any loss such as child abuse can cause grief and be just as intense. Participants will learn about:

  • The different types of grief
  • Myths and facts of grieving
  • The stages of grief
  • How to cope with the grieving process
  • Grief reactions in child abuse
  • Effective treatment for child abuse
