PACEs and the Social Sciences

PACEs occur in societal, cultural and household contexts. Social science research and theory provide insight into these contexts for PACEs and how they might be altered to prevent adversity and promote resilience. We encourage social scientists of various disciplines to share and review research, identify mechanisms, build theories, identify gaps, and build bridges to practice and policy.

Overcoming Distrust

Perhaps the answer to our current crisis is not more evidence, but more engagement. … In an era of polarization, wouldn’t it be great if we learned to talk to — and trust — one another again?”

Here is one method I would use to build understanding.

Each person in a dialogue must repeat, with acceptable accuracy, what was said before answering. One caution is that you must have your information accurate before you start. You must also be prepared to have your own views altered as a result of the conversation.
