In NZ we have the Office of the Children's Commissioner who advocates for the interests and well-being of children and young people in NZ.

Currently, the Children's Commissioner is Judge Andrew Becroft

The Office of the Children's Commissioner is currently monitoring Oranga Tamarki - Ministry FOR Children. https://www.occ.org.nz/about-u...-purpose/monitoring/

On 8 June 2020, The Children's Commission also released their report in relation to how pēpi Māori aged 0-3 months can remain in the care of their whānau.

This was in response to the attempt of Oranga Tamariki staff to uplift a newborn baby from their mother while in hospital in 2019.
