5 ways of helping ease the stress from 2020 in children

Hechingerreport.org released an article giving five ways of helping ease the stress from 2020 in children.
Be responsive - By engaging in conversation with children, it helps to stimulate their brain. This is especially important for the first 3 years of a child's life.
Share information - "Being transparent with kids, at an appropriate level for their age, can help lessen anxiety kids may feel"
Help children share their feelings - Children tend to show their feelings which can lead to disruptive behavior. Helping them learn to express their feelings with words can help them regulate their emotions better.
Play - "play helps children process feelings and develop social and emotional skills"
Realistic self-care - Lastly, the article states that it is important for parents, caregivers, educators, etc. to take small breaks throughout their day for themselves. Whether it is 5 minutes to drink coffee, or a minute of quiet time, those short breaks can help you stay calm for the next few hours.
