Free Virtual Parent Cafe in May

Virtual Parent Cafés are a free, safe space for parents to have meaningful conversations with other parents. The structured conversations give parents an opportunity to talk together about things that matter to them. They’re a great way to help us stay connected and keep our families strong during these difficult times. There will be two free raffle prizes.

At the Parent Café, we share ideas that can help us take care of ourselves and our families and raise strong, happy children.

We'd love for you to join us! Our guest speaker, Community Activist Margaret Powell will present "Mother Said..." in honor of Mother’s Day and the relationship between moms and their children.

She has educated generations of families in the same neighborhood for over thirty-five years and after her retirement, she continues to volunteer daily in the community school Matthew Henson Elementary/Middle school. A true change agent, Ms. Margaret is making a difference in the lives of African American families in West Baltimore, and in Baltimore at large, as a Steering Committee Member of Thriving Communities Collaborative. Ms. Margaret is a "room hostess" with the Parent Café and has recently graced The Family Tree by becoming one of the newest members of the Maryland Parent Leadership Team. She also celebrates grandparents and their role in the lives of their families and the community.
