Who are we? What's our interest in ACEs? Part 5

As people have joined the network, I've asked them to provide some information about their interest in ACEs. Here are another three: Mary Holden, Susan Lankford and Bruce McEwen. Some of the responses are shortened, so there's a link to their page to read more about them, friend them and/or send a message.

Mary Holden, Phoenix, AZ -- Mary is a freelance writer and editor of book manuscripts, business materials, poetry, etc. who also enjoys  "working with people who choose to self-publish."

Susan Lankford, San Diego, CA -- Susan is a remarkable photojournalist who has published three books: Maggots in My Sweet Potatoes: Women Doing Time; Downtown USA: A Personal Journey with the Homeless; and Born, Not Raised: Voices from Juvenile Hall. You can see some of her photos and learn more about her books on HumaneExposures.com. Vincent Felitti wrote the preface for all three books.

Bruce McEwen, New York, NY -- A member of the National Scientific Council on the Developing Child, Bruce works in stress neurobiology and helped develop the concept of allostatic load. He is interested in the profound effects of early life experiences on brain development  but also realizes "the untapped plasticity of the brain throughout life that may allow some therapeutic interventions."
