Prevention vs. Treatment

For numerous reasons, treatment gets much more attention than prevention. This benefits the purveyors of treatments and those who are suffering, but I don't think it will make much difference ten, twenty, fifty years down the road. I suggest that this new version of PACES Connection focus not on treatment, but on the promotion of positive childhood experiences and the prevention of adverse childhood experiences.

Absolutely, David. And prevention involves everything from parenting education to social policies that reduce the burden on households and diminish toxic stress -- affordable, high quality childcare; family leave policies; increased minimum wage; affordable housing; income supplements for low income families; and more... Thank you.
