Connect All and Ethical Self-Care

The resources provided were created for ethical standards, however, whether you work under ethical standards or not, let me explain some of how what is available benefits you.

Ethical self-care, provides a foundation and a pragmatic framework for the following:

  • Are we doing the best we personally and as our field(s), can?
  • Specific strategies for enhancing awareness of and minimizing ways in which we may be inadvertently contributing harm to ourselves or others
  • Understanding how we are interconnected, supports:
    • The work we do with others is part of our self-care.
    • Advocating for both prevention and support of the work.
  • A self-care framework that contributes to as community achieving our needs - that as we understand the interconnection of our world, in turn is taking care of ourselves

So, again, while the resources were created for ethical standards, they are for anyone.

About the resources themselves–

The webinar link is from an ethics training, “Connect All and Ethical Self-Care”, for the Oklahoma Coalition Against Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault (OCADVSA).  It is now available online, with 3hrs CEUS available for CDSVRP (depending on their states rules) and LCSW; others get a certification of completion.  It wasn’t my best presenting day, but the material hopefully speaks beyond that.   https://ocadvsa.coalitionmanag...raining/details/1183

Then based on feedback and looking forward, there is now an Ethical Self-Care guide (adapted from Module 1 of the full Connect All guide).  It should be applicable across fields, and I hope it is of benefit.
